A tasty mixture of saffron honey, orange juice and garlic is the glaze for this tasty and quick recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cornish hens
- 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh sage, thyme or rosemary
- 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoon Joon Saffron Honey
- 2 tablespoon olive oil or oil spray
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Orange and lemon slices for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine orange juice, lime juice, Joon Saffron Honey and garlic to create the glaze
- Season the cornish hens with salt and pepper
- Brush both sides of the cornish hens with the glaze
- Place the cornish hens over the onion and the herbs in baking dish. Use the olive oil to coat the baking dish
- Cook for 50 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Baste once if desired
- Served with orange or lemon slices as garnish. Serve with rice or potatoes and steamed vegetables
