INGREDIENTS
- 6 to 8 pieces of skinless chicken pieces
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup raw walnuts
- 1/2 cup Joon Pomegranate Sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoon sugar or honey (optional but recommended)
- Pomegranate seeds for garnish (optional)
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup cold water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper
- Grind the walnuts in a food processor to a smooth consistency.
- Sauté the grated onion in a pan with vegetable oil till soft and translucent
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook with the onion for 3-4 minutes on each side
- Add Joon Pomegranate Sauce and the ground walnuts to the pan and mix well
- Add ½ cup water as needed and bring the stew to simmer
- Cover and continue to cook until the chicken is fully cooked and the stew is thick
- A sweetener, such as sugar or honey, can be added for extra flavor
- Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds before serving for garnish
- Serve over steamed rice
